Active Ingredient: Flubendiamide 480 SC (39.35% w/w)
Pack sizes: 10 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml
Various chewing pests affect different crops, requiring specific management approaches. Bayer’s Fame® insecticide is a new solution containing flubendiamide that is effective against different chewing pests, including fruit borers, leaf folders, and stem borers, that affect crops such as cotton, rice, pulses, and vegetables. With Fame®, farmers can protect their crops and maximise their harvests to increase their incomes.
The active ingredient flubendiamide in Fame® falls within the diamide class of insecticides. Unlike other insecticide classes, it disrupts normal muscle activity rather than targeting the nervous system. This mechanism promptly halts pest feeding, thus preventing crop damage.
This unique approach renders it effective against a broad spectrum of pests, including lepidoptera, and offers a novel strategy for insect resistance management programs.
Flubendiamide in Fame® activates ryanodine-sensitive intracellular calcium release channels known as ryanodine receptors, or RyR, within insects. These receptors control calcium flow, which is essential for muscle energy.
By binding to RyR, flubendiamide disturbs the calcium flow, leading to muscle dysfunction and ultimately leading to the death of insects.
Some of the benefits include
Controls broad range of lepidoptera pests with pronounced larvicidal activity; ingestion is necessary, and it lacks ovicidal activity.
Fast-acting leads to a rapid halt of feeding immediately after ingestion of the compound.
Its unique mode of action makes it an excellent tool for resistance management programs.
Suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) due to its favourable toxicity profile.
Demonstrates rain-fastness due to its specific physico-chemical properties.
It is non-toxic to adult honeybees and poses no risk to beneficial insects such as parasitoids, predatory mites, or foliage-dwelling insect species.
Generally, it is well miscible with conventional crop protection products, with miscibility tests recommended before application.

Yes, Bayer is usable within integrated pest management (IPM) programs due to its low toxicity profile.
Yes, Bayer Fame® is best suited for crops such as cotton (kapaas), rice (chaaval), tomato (tamatar), cabbage (pattagobhi), pigeon pea, black gram (udid), chilli (mirchi), bengal gram, brinjal (baigan), okra (bhindi), soybean, and cardamom (elaichi).
Bayer Fame® can be sprayed at the earlier stages of the pest incidence and go for a sequential spray again after 15 days if the pest reappears. Additionally, the application stage also depends on the economic threshold level (ETL) of the crop. When the pest pressure exceeds the ETL, Bayer Fame® can be an effective treatment for pest management in crops.
The duration of the effectiveness of Fame® after application depends on factors like the climatic conditions, way of application, stage of crop, and other factors. Additionally, Fame® demonstrates rain fastness properties due to specific physico-chemical properties, further increasing the longevity of its effectiveness.
Bayer Fame® can be sprayed using a hand operated knapsack sprayer fitted with hollow cone or triple action nozzles.
