Safe use of Insecticides

To ensure the safe use of insecticides:

Use insecticides only when absolutely required, and always get advice from authorised retailer before buying them.

When carrying insecticides, keep them safely away from humans, animals, and food.

Store insecticides in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated, locked place.

Wear protective gear while mixing and loading.

Follow proper cleaning procedures after applying insecticides. Thoroughly rinse tools or equipment that were used when mixing the insecticide.

When spraying insecticides, always wear personal protection equipment and use calibrated equipment that does not leak.

Do this

Keep insecticides away from humans, animals, and food.
Always read the label and follow the instructions when using insecticides.
Always wear protective equipment such as gloves, PPE, dusk mask, and goggles.
Take a shower and wear clean clothes after spraying insecticides.
Regularly check sprayers for leaks and ensure that nozzles work properly. Wear PPE during mixing and loading.
Spray in the early morning or late evening when it is less windy.
Triple rinse empty pesticide containers into the spray tank. Puncture the container to prevent reuse and take them to approved collection sites.

Do not allow children and pets into recently treated areas until the product fully dries or dust settles.
Do not leave empty insecticides containers in the field.
Never eat, smoke, drink, or chew while using insecticides.
Never use faulty or uncalibrated spraying equipment.
