Wheat farmers in northern India often have trouble with weeds that are difficult to eliminate. Getting rid of persistent weeds such as phalaris minor is important for healthy wheat crops and good harvests. That’s where the Bayer herbicide Atlantis can be helpful in effective weed management.
Atlantis, one of the best herbicides for wheat crops, effectively controls sedges, broadleaf weeds, and narrowleaf weeds with a single spraying solution. The Atlantis herbicide has a flexible spray window and is one of the few products that provides remarkable control of phalaris minor, even at an advanced stage.
Atlantis is a post-emergence herbicide that effectively targets surface and soil weeds. It is a broad-spectrum combination herbicide based on mesosulfuron-methyl and iodosulfuron-methyl sodium.
A novel, safened sulfonyl urea-based , Atlantis is ideal for post-emergent application. Once sprayed, it quickly slows weed growth, resulting in visible stalling and patches. The weed plants are killed within 4 to 6 weeks.
Atlantis herbicide targets the acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) enzyme which is crucial for weed growth. Its active ingredients are phloem-xylem mobile, and swiftly travel through both leaves and soil, with a focus on foliar action.
Within days, weed growth is halted, chlorotic patches are visible and slow shoot necrosis follows.
Some of the benefits include
Excels at controlling various grass weed species thanks to its broad control spectrum and reliable effectiveness.
Excellent control of phalaris minor
Controls broadleaf weeds like chenopodium, rumex, and melilotus with 2-4 leaf stages.
Provides long-lasting performance. The foliar efficacy controls all emerged grasses whereas the soil action controls future emergence.
Due to flexibility in time of application to control grasses and some dicot weeds, application can be made in extended window, i.e., 2 to 4 leaf stage when wheat crop is around 30-35 days old.
Phalaris minor, Medicago denticulanta, Chenopodium album, Melilotus sp., Rumex sp., Anagallis arvensis, Coronopus didymus, Lathyrus aphaca, Fumaria parviflora
