Weeds are a major challenge for farmers who grow perennial crops such as tea and grapes. Weeds compete with plants for nutrition and impede their growth. Manual weeding increases the cost of cultivation and reduces the income of farmers. Understanding these worries, Bayer India introduced the herbicide, Alion PLUS, a breakthrough long-term weed control product.
Alion PLUS is a combination herbicide containing indaziflam and glyphosate that can be used to control a wide variety of annual grass and broadleaf weeds in tea plantations and grape fields. It is effective for both foliar (on the leaves) and pre-emergence (before the weeds have sprouted) control. This herbicide works on weeds that have developed an herbicide resistance while still being safe for the crops.
Alion Plus is an effective pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicide that provides comprehensive weed management. While the post-emergent component targets and kills visible grasses and broadleaf weeds, the pre-emergent component prevents weed seeds from germinating.
Its specialised chemical prevents weed growth and provides long-lasting, effective control. Notably, Alion PLUS accomplishes this while keeping your valuable crops safe.
Alion PLUS is a combination of indaziflam and glyphosate herbicides.
Indaziflam, part of the alkyalazine group, disrupts plant growth by blocking cellulose synthesis. This interference not only curbs meristem growth but also functions as a soil herbicide, preventing weed germination and emergence.
In contrast, a glycine derivative operates as a non-selective systemic herbicide. It hampers protein synthesis by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme known as 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) within the aromatic acid pathway. This disturbance prevents the production of essential aromatic amino acids necessary for plant protein synthesis.
