How it works?

Acerbo is a systemic and broad-spectrum fungicide recommended for use as a foliar spray

It is a mixture of two powerful fungicides, that helps protect crops from various diseases affecting them, like leaf and neck blast in rice; powdery mildew and anthracnose in chilli; and purple blotch in onions

Mode of action

Acerbo contains two active compounds, namely fluopyram and trifloxystrobin. Both compounds have broad-spectrum fungicidal activity. Fluopyram acts by blocking electron transport in the mitochondrial respiratory chain. It inhibits key processes like spore germination and mycelium growth.

Trifloxystrobin acts mesostemically with unique chemo-dynamic properties that inhibit the quinone outside (Qol) cytochrome binding site. It is well-absorbed by a plant’s waxy layers, providing excellent preventive activity on surfaces. Trifloxystrobin also penetrates plant tissues, demonstrating translaminar activity.
