How it works?

Gaucho works as a seed treatment formulation containing the systemic insecticide imidacloprid. It protects crops from harmful insects and pests, whether they are sucking pests of cotton crops or crops like wheat, sunflower, maize, and more.

Easy for farmers to use, Gaucho protects crops for 30-40 days, so no extra sprays are needed. This makes it friendly for farmers and the environment.

Mode of action

Imidacloprid in Gaucho acts as an antagonist to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in insects’ central nervous systems

It disturbs the proper signal transmission system, leading to the excitation of nerve cells. As a result, the insect experiences a disorder in its nervous system, ultimately leading to the death of the treated insect.

Gaucho is a user-friendly seed treatment formulation; however, there are certain precautions to be considered:

  • Use with care to avoid air/dust contamination of the cropping area.
  • Gaucho is toxic to aquatic invertebrates and may be avoided near aquaculture.
  • Not to be used on crops other than specified in the above table.

Gaucho is known for its longer persistence. Additionally, it shows rainfastness, which further enhances its effectiveness on treated seeds.

Gaucho, as a seed treatment, protects crops during the early stages, often for 30-40 days after planting. This lowers the immediate need for more sprays or treatments throughout this time. However, crop development and environmental conditions must be monitored to determine whether additional measures are needed for optimal crop health.
