As a research-based company, we depend heavily on recruiting well trained scientists and on society’s acceptance of technology. As education is a vital factor in achieving sustainable prosperity, Bayer places tremendous emphasis on supporting education through initiatives for school children and scholarship programs.
The Making Science Make Sense® (MSMS) program provides school students with an insight into everyday natural science phenomena with the help of all kinds of fascinating experiments. The recipe for success is both -simple and effective: Bayer employees take time out to visit the schools, armed with hands-on science. These are experiments that the school children can carry out themselves.
The initiative aims to advance science literacy among students through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. The program is designed in a specific way that includes live demonstrations, experiments, audio-visual tools and interactive sessions to enhance the learning experience and make sure that science is taught in a way that's enjoyable and fun.
In India, the Making Science Make Sense program has been able to inspire a large number of students and inculcate in them the love for science. With around 60,000 students who have already benefited from the program since 2007, we intent to reach out to another 15000 students from Mumbai, Vapi, Himatnagar and Hyderabad for the academic year 2015-16.
