It belongs to the chemical family Aryloxyphenoxypropionate
'FOPs'. The active ingredient clodinafoppropargylare
absorbed through the leaves and
shoots .They are rapidly translocated in the plants
and accumulate in the meristematic tissues. The
achieved result is inhibition of the enzyme acetyl
CoA carboxylase (ACC-ase). Within 48 hours after
application, susceptible grass species cease to
grow. Symptoms are observed within one to three
weeks depending on environmental condition and species involved. Decay of
nodes and growing points is visible with young leaves showing chlorosis followed
by necrosis.
